Accessibility Statement
Last reviewed: May 2026
Kindred (operated by LarkTek, LLC) is committed to making our software platform, public websites, family portal, and billing portal usable by every visitor and user, including those who rely on assistive technologies. We treat accessibility as part of caring for the funeral professionals and families we serve.
Our Standard
We design and maintain Kindred products and the public websites we host to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the standard referenced by the U.S. Department of Justice for Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and by the Government of Canada under the Accessible Canada Act.
What This Covers
- The Kindred marketing website at kindredfuneral.io
- Funeral home websites built with the Kindred Website Builder
- Family Portal and Billing Portal experiences for families
- Public payment, survey, and intake pages linked from those experiences
What This Means in Practice
- Text contrast meets or exceeds 4.5:1 against background colors (3:1 for large text).
- Interactive elements are reachable and operable with a keyboard alone.
- Meaningful images include descriptive alt text; decorative images are marked as such.
- Forms have visible labels and clear error messages.
- Pages respect your prefers-reduced-motion setting where supported.
- Pages use semantic HTML structure (headings, landmarks, lists) so screen readers can navigate efficiently.
Known Limitations
Some areas may fall short of the AA standard. We are actively working to address them:
- Embedded third-party content (Stripe payment widgets, Google Maps, BoldSign e-signature iframes, social media feeds) is governed by each provider's accessibility implementation and may not fully conform.
- User-uploaded obituary photos and memorial content may lack alt text or captions.
- PDF documents linked from funeral home sites may not all be tagged for screen readers; funeral home staff can provide the information by phone or in another format on request.
- Older custom website content may predate current accessibility standards and is being remediated over time.
Tell Us If You Hit a Barrier
If any part of a Kindred product or a funeral home website we host prevents you from accessing information or completing a task, please tell us. We treat accessibility reports as a priority and will work with you to provide the information you need by another means while we fix the underlying issue.
Email: accessibility@larktek.io
Please include the page URL, what you were trying to do, and which assistive technology (if any) you were using.
We aim to respond within two business days.
Ongoing Work
Accessibility is not a one-time project. We run automated WCAG checks on website content before it is published, audit public surfaces periodically, and incorporate accessibility requirements into our product development process. Your feedback is the most valuable input we have.
